Speakers: Jim Kovarik and Don Samulack

Learn about the importance of grants, and get advice on making each component clear and
persuasive.

About the speakers:

Don Samulack is the director of the Scientific Editing Department at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and provides grant writing instruction and support to researchers.

Jim Kovarik is an instructor at the University of Memphis and a freelance editor. He has led multiple workshops on grant writing and authored the book How to Write a Proposal.

Parking lot entrances are on Poplar Ave and Walnut Grove between Tillman St and S Holmes St.

Enter the library through the main lobby. Then go through the doorway on the left, which leads to the meeting rooms, and walk down the hall to the last room, C.

Note that we will not be providing food, but you may bring your own. There are several nearby restaurants
