September 2006 Meeting:
Tour of Toof Commercial Printing

From new car manuals to tabloid newspapers to those little tags on mattresses, nearly every product calls on the printing industry somewhere along the line. That’s why STC’s Mid-South Chapter wanted to take a closer look...

The Toof Tour

Founded in 1864, Toof Printing is the oldest and largest commercial printing company in the Mid-South. Toof offers the broadest product line of any commercial printer in the region. These include design and pre-production of graphic pieces; conventional and digital photography; magazines, books, annual reports and manuals; blister cards and cartons; catalogs, brochures and direct mail pieces; newspaper inserts; pocket folders; cookbooks; mailing; and storage and web-enabled fulfillment services.

Toof’s capabilities include sheet fed projects up to eight colors and full heatset web work up to five colors. Because of Toof’s location in Memphis, home of one of the largest and most economical shipping points in the country, Toof is equipped to manage fulfillment and other complicated logistics projects for its varied customer base.

Tour Leader: Rick Smith, Chief Operations Officer

The tour may split into two groups, depending on the number of attendees. An additional tour leader, possibly the Prepress Manager, may be involved.
